Teacher Education University ‘s Educator Preparation Institute provides instruction for baccalaureate degree holders to become certified teachers through competency based alternative certification courses in order to increase routes to the classroom for mid-career professionals who hold a baccalaureate degree and college graduates who were not education majors. The program is offered in a completely online format with classes broken into modules or lessons driven by detailed and specific learning objectives and rigorous assessment activities. This 21 credit hour, $1,785.00 program consists of 7 classes specifically designed to prepare individuals for the highly important and ever changing k-12 education environment. Teacher Education University’s EPI program was developed with continuing education in mind. Specific classes within the EPI course work can be transferred into Teacher Education University’s graduate programs, upon student acceptance.

The Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council is listed by the U.S. Department of Education as a nationally recognized accrediting agency and is a recognized member of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
